Could you share a bit about your journey so far and what inspired you to take this path?
Sketchnote was born out of frustration, honestly. Back in 2009, I was running a 70-person agency and struggling to stay on top of team productivity, client deliverables, and internal chaos — all without any proper tools built for agencies. Project management tools were either too generic or just didn’t get how service oriented teams worked. That pain stayed with me. Years later, while working with other agencies and marketing teams, I kept seeing the same issues — too many clients, too many tools, and no real visibility into what’s happening. That’s what led to Sketchnote. We started with digital agencies in mind, but quickly realized the same workflow pain exists inside enterprise marketing teams too. So now we’re building a simple, powerful platform that can help agencies, in-house teams, and anyone managing marketing or client ops — streamline tasks, get approvals faster, track time, report better, manage social media and paid media and actually stay in sync.
What motivated you to create a software specifically for agency operations?
Because most tools just don’t get how agencies or marketing teams actually work. They’re either built for product teams or they try to slap on "marketing features" as an afterthought. But agencies and creative teams run on momentum, feedback loops, and fast turnarounds — not Gantt charts and Jira tickets. We built Sketchnote to bring all the moving parts together: task management, approvals, timesheets, invoicing, campaign tracking and social media scheduling — all in one place. It’s built from lived experience, not guesswork. And we’re constantly evolving it based on what modern teams need.
Given that social intelligence is critical today, how are you planning to address this need?
This is a big focus area for us. We’re building a social listening tool that goes beyond just tracking. This is a big focus area for us. We’re building a social listening tool that goes beyond just tracking mentions. It helps you monitor brand voice keywords and applies sentiment analysis to understand the tone of what’s being said. So instead of just seeing “You were mentioned 28 times this week,” you’ll know how people are talking about your brand, what emotions are showing up, and what patterns are emerging. This kind of insight is gold for both agencies and in-house teams running brand campaigns — and it’s all tied back into the workflow so you can act on it. Creative Industry Insights – Based on your data-driven approach, what unique insights do you have about the creative industry? One thing we’ve consistently seen: the bottlenecks aren't in the ideas — they’re in the operations. Great teams get stuck because of feedback delays, scattered communication, unclear priorities, or repetitive admin work. The highest-performing agencies and marketing teams we see are the ones who have streamlined their ops: fast approval cycles, clear task ownership, transparent timelines. When your system runs smoothly, your creativity has space to breathe. That’s what we’re building toward.
How do you see AI transforming the way agencies operate?
AI’s a game-changer — not as a replacement, but as a force multiplier. We’re using AI to help teams save time and make better decisions: auto-summarizing performance reports, suggesting campaign learnings, even helping with resource planning. The idea is to remove the grunt work — the stuff that slows teams down — so they can focus on strategy, creativity, and execution. Long term, AI will be like the invisible ops assistant every team wishes they had.
What marketing strategies do you believe are most effective at Sketchnote?
What’s worked best for us is being human and transparent. We share what we’re building, what’s working, and what’s not. That realness builds trust. We also get a lot of value from conversations — DMs, calls, community chats. And most of our growth has come from referrals. When someone switches to Sketchnote and their day-to day becomes easier, they tell others. That’s the best marketing in the world.
What’s your take on the potential and challenges of the Indian market?
Huge potential. The Indian agency and marketing scene is exploding — smart people, creative work, and a hunger to scale. But there’s also price sensitivity and resistance to change. You can’t just sell features — you have to show real value quickly. We’re finding that onboarding support, localized workflows, and community-led trust matter a lot here. If you build with empathy, the Indian market gives you serious momentum.
Are there any global expansion plans on your roadmap?
Definitely. We’re already seeing interest from Southeast Asia, US, and the Middle East. Our goal isn’t to go global for the sake of it — but to grow where there’s real pull from teams who resonate with our philosophy. As we expand, we’re focused on partnerships with agencies and marketers who can help us adapt to their regional needs, while keeping the product clean and simple.
In a competitive space, what are you doing to set yourself apart from the crowd?
We’re not just another task or content scheduling tool. Sketchnote is the only platform that brings together agency ops + performance + social media + social listening in a way that feels seamless. And while others bolt on features, we’re obsessed with how teams actually work — approvals, performance tracking, billing, content plans — all stitched together without feeling bloated. Plus, our UI is built for speed and clarity. The goal is to make it a joy to use, not just another login screen in your day.
