Some people speak motivation; he lives it.

Business Strategist

In the 1980s, Madhu Bhaskaran was living in a hut-like home. Today, he lives on the same street in a luxury villa and drives a BMW 7 Series. All of this he earned by inspiring others to live fully and become successful.

What amused me most was his self-inspiration. It is easy to inspire others, but inspiring ourselves is a daunting task in itself.

As a child, he went with his family to Tamil Nadu in search of a livelihood. He studied there until his graduation, which he completed from Maharaja’s College — though it took him more than one attempt to clear all the papers. By then, he was clear about the path ahead: “Further studies are not my cup of tea. Let’s do something else.”

He joined a courier service and entered the polished logistics industry as a delivery boy. No problem.

Then came his eureka moment — he realized he had a masterpiece smile that made people around him happy. It spread inspiration. Slowly, he started receiving invitations, primarily from churches, to motivate people. He went, spoke from his own life, and people truly felt motivated — not just a brief spike of happy hormones. Soon, the invitations multiplied.

On weekends, he motivated people. On weekdays, he motivated himself to deliver parcels better. One day, someone offered him a fee for speaking. He found it interesting — and it worked.

He quit his logistics job and began training full time. There was no orientation, no positioning — just random training. He took whatever came his way.

Thanks to his schooling in Tamil Nadu, he also extended his training to Tamil. “I didn’t know any language well — my English and Malayalam were not that strong. So why not Tamil, which I could handle even better?”

Today, he has trained thousands of people and mentored some of India’s leading businesses — helping them grow from turnovers of ₹10 crore to ₹2,500 crore. They all speak of him with great enthusiasm. He builds communities and gives them practical solutions to scale their businesses.

“We have to sacrifice something to achieve something else,” he once told Brand Swamy. When he launched his 2030 mission — to create ₹1 lakh crore in business within his community and lead five IPOs — he gave up non-vegetarian food. “I will eat it again on December 31, 2030, after achieving the dream I set,” he said.

He recalled a life-transforming experience: attending a session by one of the world’s best trainers. That was when he realized the importance of specialization. He embraced it and became an entrepreneur trainer — someone who trains those who, in turn, can transform many others in their companies. It worked well.

“Do corporate trainers need to keep a distance from the crowd to build value?” I asked him. He rejected it outright. “If you can be the same person to a star and his driver, there’s nothing like it.”

He is now building a platform where entrepreneurs receive hands-on training from industry-leading trainers, who provide practical solutions to strengthen the knowledge ecosystem of the business world.

As I climbed down the stairs from his Panampilly Nagar office in Kochi, I told myself: If there is someone who lives what he preaches, there is no way he cannot be successful.
